Matchy is an application that enables paperless speed dating in real time. The goal was to eliminate paper and time waste, due to the exponential amount of matches that have to be computed. We aimed to make interactions smooth and adaptable to the needs of different events, while preserving the anonymity of participants to reduce the likelihood of abuse.
Features and ideas
There are to groups of users in the context of the application: organizers and participants.
Organizers are those who create and organize events. They can adjust the parameters and monitor participation before and during the event. To this end they can see the number of people who have RSVPed as well as how many have confirmed their attendance. During rounds they are able to see the number of pairs that have formed, how many are done, how many people have not found another participant for the round as well as how the long the round will last. After the event organizers get statistics about matches during their event and can publish matches to the respective participants at the click of a button.
Participants are able to see events happening and sign up for them. During rounds they can form a pair with another participant by scanned the QR-Code that appears on their phone during each round or having theirs scanned. They are able to see how long the round will last and at the end, can vote whether they want to match with the other person. If both participants of a pair match, they will receive the contact information the other person has provided when the matches are published by the organizer. Before this, they are completely anonymous and if they do not match with another participant their contact information is never revealed.
