About Me

Hi, I’m Marco—a passionate software engineer from Luxembourg, currently based in Vienna. I’m pursuing my Master’s degree in Software Engineering and Internet Computing at the Vienna University of Technology, where I focus on web development and all things tech.

My journey into coding began in 2018 while studying physics at the Technical University of Munich. That experience ignited a deep passion for programming, leading me to switch gears and pursue a career in computer science. In 2019, I moved to Vienna to embark on my Bachelor’s studies. Initially enrolled in Computer Engineering, I quickly realized my true interests lay elsewhere, prompting me to transition to Business Informatics, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree. Along the way, I honed my web development skills and gained invaluable experience working on collaborative projects. Now, I’m continuing my journey in the Master’s program for Software Engineering and Internet Computing.

Beyond web development, I’m fascinated by the potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) and their transformative role in software engineering. My Bachelor’s thesis explored both their promise and the challenges they pose for the field. During a university project, I worked with LangChain.js, a library that was still catching up to its Python counterpart at the time. Contributing new features to the repository became a rewarding experience, and I’m proud to have been recognized as one of their Top Recent Contributors and to remain on their all-time contributor list.

When I’m not writing code, you’ll probably find me staying active—either at the gym, playing volleyball, or unwinding with a good movie or series. I also love puzzle games and play them daily with my partner. Some of our go-to games include Connections, The Mini, Wordle, Strands, Spotle, Bandle, Worldle, and Framequiz. (RIP Themely—we miss you!)

Thanks to my Luxembourgish roots, I speak four languages: German, French, English, and Luxembourgish. If you’re unfamiliar with Luxembourgish, think of it as a quirky, playful version of German—no, it’s not Dutch!

Let’s connect and create something amazing! 😊
